I didn't know if anyone else has seen this - just thought I'd let ya'all know.

2nd Annual Benefit Concert for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Returns to Cary, N.C.
Koka Booth Amphitheatre will host Labor Day Weekend Concert

Quote:
CLEVELAND (April 7, 2009) -- The Town of Cary, N.C. will again play host to one of the country's most unique music festivals as the 2nd Annual Benefit Concert for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Museum ("Rock Hall") returns to the beautiful Koka Booth Amphitheatre on Sunday, September 6 featuring a line-up of rock legends, R&B superstars, all-star bands and emerging artists.

Last year, a line-up comprised of some of Rock and Roll's best-known front men, including Jack Bruce of Cream and current and former members of Jefferson Airplane, Styx, Traffic, Deep Purple, Grand Funk Railroad, Blue Oyster Cult, the Grateful Dead, Yes and others gathered to stage a two-day classic rock concert event that garnered worldwide media attention and prompted the Rock Hall to return the show to Cary a second time.

"The event was a huge success for the Town of Cary," said Cary Mayor Harold Weinbrecht. "We are so proud to be able to bring this level of entertainment back to the area and I look forward to rolling out the welcome mat for this year's artists, Rock Hall staff and our out-of-town guests."

Ticket information and the show line-up, which is near completion, will be released next month. Tickets will be available via Ticketmaster and the Koka Booth Amphitheatre box office. Music fans can visit www.rockhallbenefit.com for more information.

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Museum National Trustee and Cary-resident Rick French returns as chairman of this year's event. The Town of Cary will again serve as presenting sponsor of the show and 96 Rock (96.1 FM) and 850 The Buzz (850 AM)/620 The Bull (620 AM) return as the official radio broadcast partners for the festival, with announcements pertaining to the show line-up being released first on those media outlets.

In addition to benefiting the Rock Hall's music education outreach efforts, this year's show will also benefit the Cary Community Foundation (www.carycommunityfoundation.org). The Cary Community Foundation's goal is to promote philanthropy in Cary through the creation of permanent endowments and grant making to help meet the needs of non-profit organizations that serve its citizens. Last year's show benefited both the Rock Hall and the John Entwistle Foundation.

"We couldn't have been more pleased with last year's show and the support we received from the Town of Cary, the Greater Raleigh Convention & Visitors Bureau, our various corporate and media partners and `60s and `70s classic rock fans," said French. "This year we plan to give music fans a little bit of everything by paying homage to Rock and Roll's R&B roots while also providing fans a healthy dose of classic rock and some other pleasant surprises."

Yeah, I saw it. I don't plan to attend. I guess in the end it will come down to the line-up. But I won't be buying my tickets prior to seeing the official line-up.

I can't say that I blame anyone for exercising caution. The memory of last year is still fresh.
