Me saying positive things... It can happen.

Friday night was great. The sound engineering did an amazing job. One of the best sounding shows I've ever attended.

Dennis DeYoung... wow. I'm now a STYX fan.

I know that was hard for you. Laughing And I agree entirely.

I was totally rocked by what I saw on Friday. Just Wow! I didn't know a violin could rock like that! And I really loved seeing Eric again. He's simply amazing. I had forgotten all about the Hooters. I'll be buying that new cd. Soon. Very Happy Randy was fun. He's a bit of a nut, but he has talent and that's a fun combo. What's not to love about Alan and Rick! I loved the entire show.

Saturday's highlights for me started with seeing Grand Society. I discovered them on MySpace after they were announced to play and I love them! Their set was great, just way too short. They didn't even get to play my favorite song. Later in the afternoon, I spoke to Derek (the lead singer) and told him how much I enjoyed their set and love the tunes on MySpace so he went backstage and brought me back a copy of their demo cd. They don't have a studio release yet. He couldn't have been nicer.

I enjoyed Parmalee very much as well. Arrogance brought it. I LOVED DDY's performance! Since I never got to see him with Styx, I'm thrilled that I saw such an outstanding performance on Sat.

I thought the sound wasn't ever quite right after that so I'll leave my other thoughts to the low-lights thread.

Can I just say how much I loved Buck Dharma's set? I might have to investigate the BOC back catalog now.

I'm a little disappointed that there aren't more photos of the emerging artists or other bands with North Carolina ties like Arrogance. There was some great talent there besides the headliners...

Think I'll start a thread to bring them back into the spotlight a little. They were part of the show too, and the ones I got to hear were great!

Look for the threads "Featured NC Artists played Koka Booth" and "Emerging artists opened The Show" and leave the bands your comments! (Please post photos on the "this area set aside for photos" thread if you have them)
